Incheon Global Campus hosts admissions fair in Vietnam

The Incheon Global Campus (IGC) hosted an admissions fair in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Founded jointly by the central government and Incheon Metropolitan City, the IGC is a school campus shared by multiple foreign academic institutes including the State University of New York (SUNY) Korea and George Mason University.

According to the Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education, Friday, about 200 students visited the 2024 Incheon Education Festival held at Renaissance International School Saigon and EMASI International Bilingual School in the capital of Southeastern Asian country starting Sept. 5.

The five-day event aimed to introduce the international schools in the IGC and their academic programs as well as admission information for Vietnamese students who are interested in studying abroad.

Representatives of the IGC, SUNY and George Mason University Korea opened booths there during the event.

“Since the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, the IGC has been actively hosting overseas admission fairs targeting Southeast Asian students,” IGC Foundation CEO Park Byeong-geun said.

“This year, we continued promoting the IGC through our participation in fairs, visiting international schools as well as various institutions in Ho Chi Minh City, aiming to expand opportunities for more exceptional foreign students to enroll in IGC programs.”

Thanks to mounting interest in the IGC and its international schools’ academic programs, the student enrollment has reached 4,192 for the fall semester this year, jumping 93 times from the campus’s initial enrollment of 45 students.

As of now, the IGC is hosting SUNY Korea, George Mason University Korea, Ghent University Global Campus, University of Utah Asia campus and Stanford Research Center Korea.

According to the IGC, these academic institutes provide the same curriculum as their home campuses, with all academic operations, including admissions and degree conferral, managed directly by the home campus.
