Korea-Japan flights affected by Tsunami warning after Taiwan quake

Several flights connecting Korea and Japan have been affected by a tsunami warning in Okinawa Prefecture caused by a major earthquake that struck Taiwan on Wednesday, industry officials said.

Korean Air flight KE755, which was scheduled to depart from Incheon Airport at 9:10 a.m., was delayed by around 2 1/2 hours due to deteriorating weather conditions at Okinawa's Naha Airport.

Asiana Airlines flight OZ172, which was scheduled to depart from Incheon to Okinawa, was delayed by about three hours. Low-cost carriers Jin Air and T'way Air also reported delays in their flights to Okinawa.

According to industry officials, flights between Korea and Taiwan, however, were operating normally, as there has been no direct quake-related damage to major airports in Taiwan. (Yonhap)
