Another Korean tourist has died in the popular Vietnamese tourist destination of Dalat, after four were killed earlier this week as their car was swept away by floodwater following days of heavy rains.
According to local media, Friday, a 60-year-old Korean tourist fell four meters at a mountain in the vicinity of Dalat, located in the southern Lam Dong province. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, but died there on Thursday.
The accident occurred while the tourist and her companions were taking photographs on their way to the summit of Langbian Mountain.
It has been reported that warning signs were in place in the area where the accident took place, indicating potential risks. Langbian Mountain, with an elevation of 1,200 meters, is situated 12 kilometers from Dalat.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Seoul also confirmed the accident later on Friday, saying the government has deployed an official to the hospital where the tourist died to provide necessary consular support to the bereaved family, such as help with funeral procedures.
The latest incident came after a group of four Korean tourists lost their lives in Dalat, Tuesday, after their vehicle was swept away by a sudden surge in a river while traveling along the waterway.
