Colorful fireworks lit up the sky over southeastern Seoul on Saturday night.

The event, organized by Lotte World Tower to celebrate May 5 Children's Day and to wish for permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula, started at 8:30 p.m. and continued for 11 minutes and 50 seconds. Including 30,000 fireworks, the display cost six billion won ($5.12 million), according to Lotte.
