The freezing cold snap will hold sway over the Korean Peninsula on Wednesday, plunging temperatures below zero nationwide.
Seoul's morning low will tumble to minus 4 degrees Celsius, with minus 8 in Cheorwon, Gangwon Province; minus 7 in Paju, Gyeonggi Province; minus 2 in Daegu and minus 1 in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province, marking the coldest morning of the season, according to the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA).
It will get a little warmer on Thursday but the cold snap will regain force toward the end of the week, KMA officials said.
The KMA issued a cold wave advisory Tuesday afternoon for central and southern areas.
