Walt Disney's most iconic cartoon character Mickey Mouse will make his first visit to Seoul later this month to collaborate on various brand promotional campaigns with the capital.

“Mickey Mouse is scheduled to arrive in Korea on Nov. 28,” the Seoul Metropolitan Government said in a statement, Thursday.
“During his visit, there will be diverse events to promote both brands.”
The event was first proposed by Walt Disney Korea on the occasion of anniversaries for both sides, according to the city government. The capital city celebrated the third anniversary of its official slogan, I.Seoul.U, Oct. 28, while the beloved mascot turns 90, Nov. 18.
To create a welcoming atmosphere for Mickey Mouse's first-ever trip to Korea, the city government has made two teaser trailers that are available on subway trains, in Gwanghwamun and other major areas as well as its affiliated organizations and district offices.
In addition, the city has unveiled a tweaked version of its slogan using the character, I.MickeyinSeoul.U, which will be made public through the city's website and Disney's social media channels on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.
According to the city, right after landing in Korea, the world's most famous rodent is scheduled to visit City Hall to participate in a gift-wrapping event that will take place for children from low-income households.
In early December, Mickey Mouse plans to visit many places, including N Seoul Tower, Dongdaemun Design Plaza and Gwanghwamun, while getting around by subway.
Mickey Mouse made his debut in the 1928 short film “Steamboat Willie” and has since appeared in 121 short films, more than 30,000 books, magazines and comics and 90 TV shows and movies.
He has traveled around the world and his destinations included Shanghai, London, Los Angeles and New York.
The local government said Mickey Mouse's visit means Seoul has gained higher global recognition.
