South Korea’s elite tech university KAIST ranked fourth out of 426 universities in Asia and first in South Korea in an annual evaluation by global higher education analyst Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).
The Daejeon-based university jumped two notches from last year in the Asia rankings, while maintaining top spot in Korea for four straight years.
Seoul National University ranked 11th, down one step from last year. It was the school’s first time out of the top 10.
POSTECH was 12th, Korea University 16th, Sungkyunkwan University 18th, Yonsei University 19th and Hanyang University 30th. Seventeen South Korean universities were in the top 100.
Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University topped the list. The National University of Singapore was second followed by Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
