The Seoul Metropolitan Government said it will lend 12 billion won ($10 million) to businesses that are working to achieve their social goals, particularly in the social housing sector, through the end of this year.

It’s also looking for a fund manager to handle the money and process with applications ― it will receive job applications for the position until Sept. 11.

The social investment fund was established in 2012. Up to July, it has lent 73.7 billion won to 267 businesses aiming to achieve social goals.

According to the city, the fund helped create 1,383 jobs and provided 103 housing units in the city, with 294 more to be on the market soon.

“We hope what we offer benefits those who need the money and they invest it wisely,” according to the statement by the city.
