Chaos can only be avoided with authority. That is why governments were created in every country in the world. Despite that, some people wonder why a single global government does not exist.

I believe that the biggest reason is because of the possibility of corruption.

Governing the entire world is a difficult task, competent officials are not always elected and it would be nearly impossible to keep track of situations in all countries.

Having a global government in our world would be far from ideal.

First of all, governing billions of people would be a strenuous task for a

ny single entity. A global government would have to keep records of nearly all the people on the planet, which is already a complicated job in itself for officials of separate countries.

For example, Russia was difficult to govern in the past because of its humongous size and population. Imagine how hard it would be for a global government to rule Russia along with the rest of the world.

It would be a huge burden for government officials. Frankly speaking, it is too difficult of a task for a single entity to perform efficiently.

Secondly, competent officials are not always elected. Human greed is an unpredictable thing and power attracts the very people who should not have it in the first place.

The infamous Adolf Hitler, for example, commanded that millions of Jewish people be executed because of his twisted vision of a perfect society. If a power-hungry official like Hitler gets elected to be a part of a global government, our society would be in grave danger.

Despite modernization, there’s no reason not to fear another repeat of the Holocaust.

Finally, situations in each country are different from one another. One country could be doing terribly economically while another country might be flourishing in terms of finance. It would be much too complicated for a global government to lay out many differing rules and obligations when its job is to govern the world as a whole.

Brazil had has numerous riots in the beginning of the 21st century, while Iceland tops the list of most peaceful countries.

Iceland has been noted by many magazines and news articles as one of the most successful countries on the planet. Noting down all the countries’ situations and trying to organize them together is like trying to match a jigsaw puzzle without all the pieces. It would be impossible.

In conclusion, the high chance of corruption is what prevents the existence of a global government. Governing the entire planet with a single entity is not ideal because there is a chance of incompetent officials being elected and countries are all in different conditions.

A global government may sound appealing, but the stakes are too high. Nothing should come at the cost of corruption.
