Hanyang, Sungkyunkwan, Inha recognized

Hanyang, Sungkyunkwan and Inha were selected by companies as the best Korean universities for education in engineering, a survey showed.

The education ministry jointly conducted the survey with the Korean Council for University Education last year and announced the results recently.

Hanyang came first in information and communications technology education, followed by Inha, Korea University, and the University of Seoul.

Sungkyunkwan ranked first in semiconductor engineering education, followed by Inha, Korea, Hanyang and Pusan national universities.

Inha in Incheon was assessed to have run the best curriculum in computer science, followed by Korea, Sungkyunkwan, Aju, Sogang universities.

The annual survey started in 2008 to help schools redesign their curriculum to the form suggested by major firms in each industry. Forty one companies joined the latest survey as judges to assess 33 universities.

“Graduates from top ranking schools are expected to have the upper hand in getting a job,” an education official said.
