Sungkyunkwan University Graduate School of Business (SKK GSB) has opened an executive MBA program in partnership with the Kelly School of Business of the United States. A total of 34 students have already registered for the 16-month, English-only program.
Professors from the U.S. school, the 15th best offering MBAs in the United States, will be involved in teaching classes.
The program targets middle management executives with more than eight years of work experience. SKK GSB says students can learn practical business skills in a global entrepreneur society through more sophisticated courses than general MBA programs, such as global accounting practice and global managerial economics.
"SKK GSB will provide a world class EMBA program with the Kelly School of Business and it will be a good opportunity for students to obtain business knowledge and experience for global business leaders," said Kwon Sang-soo, director of the program.
The backgrounds of students who have enrolled vary. Some are from large Korean companies, some are from multinational companies ― including an international lawyer, a marketing director at a global financial service company and executives from Korean branch offices of multinational firms ― as well as a dentist and an advertising specialist.
