Cheong Wa Dae said, Tuesday, that Kim Yong-beom, chief of staff for policy, has resigned from his post.
Presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung said Kim tendered his resignation, Monday, and that President Lee Jae Myung accepted it Tuesday.
Kim stepped down about 15 months after being appointed the first presidential policy chief of the Lee administration.
His resignation comes amid speculation that he is taking responsibility for mounting public criticism over financial market turmoil surrounding single-stock leveraged exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
