The Republic of Korea Army (ROKA) is seeking to remain flexible in maintaining its troops amid the worst-ever heat wave.
“As of Aug. 2, we have been running a special committee to come up with countermeasures to deal with the heat,” an Army official said Monday.
According to the official, the Army rescheduled outdoor military training plans to be in line with the government's guidance to refrain from field activities due to the week-long heat wave.
The Army decided to stop its troops from engaging in any outdoor training when the temperature rises above 32 degrees Celsius, and has been more flexible by having troops rest inside military camps.
