Woman in critical condition after collapsing at polling station

A woman in her mid-50s is in critical condition after collapsing at a polling station set up in the rural county of Sancheong, South Gyeongsang Province, for the June 13 local elections.

She was taken to a nearby hospital but is unconscious, rescue workers and the state election watchdog said. She collapsed while standing in a line to receive ballot papers, they said. Further details of her condition were not immediately known.

The National Election Commission has launched an investigation.
