Politicians sometimes need to be creative to get their message across.
In a recently released video, An Hee-jung, the South Chungcheong Province governor who competed with leading presidential candidate Moon Jae-in in the Democratic Party of Korea (DPK)’s primary, dressed in black with a blue umbrella in hand, struts his stuff.
Subtitles of the video read: “voting exerts such a wonderful influence on our minds and bodies.”
Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon and DPK lawmaker Kim Boo-kyum can also be seen dancing in separate videos.
Park appealed with b-boy swagger, while Kim showed off his disco moves clad in sunglasses and a fedora.
The participants also appealed to voters on social media.
“I voted early,” Mayor Park posted on his Facebook account. “I am excited by the thought of greeting a new administration. Would you like to vote and join me in my dance?”
Kim posted, “I decided to devote myself to boosting the voter turnout. Although I may appear awkward, I hope you all enjoy the video.”
