Actor pays tribute to Sewol victims with new song

Actor and singer Choi Min-soo on Sunday debuted a song that pays tribute to the victims of last year’s Sewol ferry tragedy.

The 54-year-old, a member of the band 36.5℃ performed the new song “Can You Hear Me?” at Rolling Hall in Hongdae, western Seoul.

The song reflects on the actor’s heartbroken emotions when he learned about the disaster which claimed over 300 lives. It clocks in at over 10 minutes long

Recorded last June, Can You Hear Me includes snippets of news coverage of the tragedy in the intro.

Choi rejected the Golden Acting Award at 2014 MBC Drama Awards on Dec. 30 in his bid to be respectful to families of victims of the disaster. He played the role of a prosecutor on the television series “Pride and Prejudice.”
