Police on Tuesday booked a woman who made headlines earlier this month when she slapped a clothing store employee at a mall in Daejeon over the store’s return policy.

Daejeon Seobu police booked the 41-year-old without detention after questioning her at the station on Sunday. She was charged with assault.

The woman, whose identity hasn’t been revealed, told police that she became angry when the store didn’t accept her return of a 500,000 won ($460) winter jumper because of stains. She admitted her misconduct to the police.

Video footage

taken by a witness shows the woman becoming hysterically angry at the women’s fashion store.

In the video, she is seen yelling at employees and throwing store equipment ― including a computer and an iPad ― on the floor. She slaps one employee, making a sound so loud it attracts the attention of nearby customers.

The woman left after the store replaced the jumper with a new one. But she came back and scolded employees for not exchanging the jumper in the first place.

The woman’s tantrum lasted for 30 minutes, reports said.
