K-pop singer Hyuna from girl group “4Minute” has been praised in prominent pop culture magazine Rolling Stone for her music video “Red.”

The magazine rated the music video fifth in its “10 Best Music Videos of 2014.”

Rolling Stone’s short online description of “Red” emphasizes how the video adds life to the lyrics, with the words “monkey’s red butt” and “red lipstick” being morphed into a real monkey with a red rump and Hyuna, 24, lying on a giant red lipstick image as she sings.

The magazine says the song’s style switches from “hip-hop” to “bubbly pop” to “slinky Middle Eastern electro,” and notes how the video that Korean TV regulators evaluated as “too hot” to broadcast might just fit for an “American crossover.”

Rolling Stone selected Sia’s "Chandelier" as the number one video, followed by DJ Snake’s "Turn Down for What" in second place and Beyonce’s "Pretty Hurts" in the third spot.
