Woman dies after being found unconscious in kiddie pool

A woman, 56, found floating unconscious and face down in a 70-centimeter deep children's pool at a public swimming center in western Busan, Wednesday, died.

Gangseo police said a woman called 911 after she found the swimmer about 4:30 p.m.

The victim died while being taken to hospital.

Police said the woman reportedly started learning to swim about two months ago. She had been coming to the center at least five times a week.

Police examined video footage that showed the victim abruptly stop while swimming.

The medical examiner reported that the victim showed no signs of an external cause of death. Police will request an autopsy.
