Police have detained a man, surnamed Hong, who set his ex-girlfriend's house on fire in southeastern Seoul.
The man, in his late 60s, went to the house about 2 p.m. Sunday where the ex-girlfriend, 72, was living with her children. He allegedly poured gasoline around the house and set it alight.
The fire was soon extinguished and no one was injured, police said.
The ex-girlfriend claimed Hong threatened to kill her.
The two had a 13-year relationship.
