Male nurse found dead in public restroom

A male nurse has been found dead with a syringe in his body in a restroom at a shopping mall in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, according to police, Friday, raising speculation the man, 28, was a drug addict.

However, there were no visible injuries and he left no note.

The body was on the first floor of Starfield Goyang.

Police have asked the National Forensic Service to analyze what was in the syringe. They are also investigating how the hospital where the man worked managed drugs there.

“There is no sign of homicide and an autopsy could not find a specific cause of death,” a police officer said.

“It is highly possible that he died from drug overdose, so we are now probing details of the incident.”

Starfield Goyang is a four-story building with two underground floors covering 364,000 square meters. The building opened in August 2017.
