YouTubers found guilty of abuse for filming daughter stealing money

A court has found a YouTuber couple guilty of child abuse after they produced a “guided stealing” video clip in which they taught their daughter, 5, how to steal money and filmed the child committing the crime.

The Seoul Family Court handed down the verdict, ordering the couple to receive counseling at a children's protection institute. The court said the “guided stealing” was aimed at promoting the couple's YouTube channel.

The controversial clip was removed from the channel that has nearly 2.4 million subscribers.

This was one of several “child abuse” cases of this kind detected by Save the Children, a NGO for children's rights. The NGO filed a complaint against the couple last year, arguing they “abused” their daughter to promote their YouTube channel.
