Ex-Hanwha Eagles player arrested for allegedly raping minor

A former professional baseball player was arrested for allegedly raping a minor, police said Wednesday.

The suspect, 24, was expelled from South Korean professional baseball team the Hanwha Eagles. Police didn't give further details, including his name or date of expulsion, over privacy concerns.

The suspect met the girl in June through social media and allegedly raped her at his home.

“We have nothing to say about the alleged victim as well,” an investigator said.
