Police take the daycare center teacher into Seoul Southern District Court, Friday. Yonhap
A teacher was arrested Friday on charges of killing an 11-month-old infant at a daycare center in Seoul.
The Seoul Southern District Court has issued an arrest warrant for the woman, 59, who allegedly smothered him to death with a blanket. The incident happened on Wednesday.
According to Seoul Gangseo Police Station, CCTV showed the suspect, surnamed Kim, putting a blanket over the baby and pressing on him.
Police said Kim claimed she was forcing the baby to sleep.
When emergency personnel arrived at the scene, he was already dead.
According to the National Forensic Service, Thursday, an autopsy showed the baby died from asphyxiation.
