Lonely after wife dies, man, 80, jumps to his death

A “lonely” man, 80, has jumped to his death from an eighth-floor apartment in Seongbuk, northeastern Seoul, Jongam police said.

A guard discovered the body. No suicide note was found at the man's home.

“It seems the man felt very lonely after his wife died,” police said. “His children are living separately.”

Experts say that at an advanced age, couples tend to rely on each other, but often husbands rely more on their wives.
