Four workers were killed in an accident at the construction site of LCT, Busan’s mega complex, Friday afternoon.

According to the Busan Fire Department Safety Headquarters, three fell to their death from the 55th floor, 200 meters above the ground, when one section of the four-part external scaffolding they were working from gave way at around 1:55 p.m.

Another worker died on the ground after he was hit by falling debris.

The four were subcontractors for POSCO Engineering and Construction, the subsidiary of the steelmaker. The three were part of six-man crew installing outer glasswork on the building.

The LCT complex is composed of one 101-story commercial building with two residential towers ― both with 85 floors ― on the seafront of Haeundae and estimated to cost 2.74 trillion won.
