Canadian freestyle skier David Duncan is under investigation by Korean police after allegedly stealing a vehicle, according to police Saturday.

According to the Gangwon Provincial Police Agency and media reports, Duncan, 35, his wife, 32, and his manager, 48, are being investigated for allegedly stealing a Hummer near a bar in Daegwallyeong-myeon around midnight Friday.

The three were allegedly drunk when they took the vehicle to the PyeongChang Athletes Village.

The owner of the vehicle, surnamed Ahn, left the vehicle briefly with the engine running. When he returned, it was gone.

When police caught them there about an hour after the alleged crime, they were in state of inebriation ― a blood alcohol concentration of 0.160, well over Korea’s legal limit of 0.05.

Canadian Olympic Committee CEO Chris Overholt said the three are under investigation but refused to reveal the details.

Duncan, who started skiing at the age of 3, finished eighth overall in the men's ski cross earlier this week.

The incident is expected to be a black mark on what has been Canada’s best performance at a Winter Olympics with 28 medals won.
