A man was accused of biting off part of another man’s ear in a drunken fight in a bar, police said Tuesday. The man whose ear was bitten was also prosecuted for assaulting the other man with a liquor bottle.

Police said both men belonged to the same criminal gang.

Police said the bloody fight took place at a bar in Namwon, North Jeolla Province, on Sept. 1. At around 3:10 a.m., a man surnamed Lee, 45, hit the other man, surnamed Yoo, 46, with a liquor bottle.

Yoo fought back, pushing Lee against a wall and punching and kicking him. The two ended up on the ground, where Yoo bit off part of Lee’s ear.

The two were arrested at the scene.

Lee allegedly told police that Yoo had left the gang and had since looked down on him.
