Sungshin Women's University president Shim Hwa-jin was released on bail on Monday, nine days after being jailed for embezzling school funds. She posted 50 million won ($43,600) bail.
Judge Oh Won-chan of the Seoul Northern District Court approved her release on condition that Shim must not visit the school in Seoul or influence its management.
Shim was charged with embezzling 378 million won in school funds between 2013 and 2015.
