Seoul Rotary Club is hosting the "Born from Nature" charity event, offering an evening of live music, food and drink as well as networking opportunities. The dinner will be held at The Mansion in central Seoul's Itaewon on Jan. 14.
The highlight of the evening will be a concert by the Trio Suits, featuring Korean American pianist Edwin Kim, violinist So Jae-wan and cellist Shin Ho-cheol. The first half of the show will feature instrumentals, including two selections of Korean composer Lim Dong-chang's original works in the style of Korean traditional music. The second half will focus on the team's vocal repertoire, which will include an arrangement of Cho Yong-pil's "Song of the Wind." The song selection is aimed to evoke a collective appreciation for the invaluable inspiration that nature has provided to humanity.
The title, "Born From Nature," aims to convey the organization's message of environmental preservation. About two-thirds of the funds raised from ticket sales will be donated to the Rotary Foundation Korea and Seoul Rotary Club for their environment-related community service initiatives as the environment has become a new area of focus for Rotary International.
The live music is from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Afterwards until 9 p.m., attendees are welcome to stick around and mingle with the performers as well as enjoy a full service bar and food menu. The event sponsors include The Mansion, Perrier Korea and Yamaha Music Korea.
