The Korea International Expat Film Festival (KIXFF) teams up with Retro Fest 2018: Rock This Town (a music festival featuring swing dance music; rockabilly style) for this year's festival which features 58 films submitted from all over the world, including Korea _ from both Koreans and expats.
The film festival is happening at Emu Cinema near Gwanghwamun Station and runs from Sept. 29 to 30. Retro Fest 2018 will include live music, a live old style barbershop showcase, vendors selling vintage trinkets and a dance party in the basement of Emu Cinema on Sept. 29 to rock your blues away. On Sunday night there will be an awards ceremony to celebrate the winners of this year's fest.
Attendees who purchase an all-access VIP pass worth 50,000 won will receive a goody bag featuring gifts from sponsors Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer and CLIO Cosmetics. The all-access pass can be bought on the day, in cash or via Paypal, or on the website. For those who only want to see one or two films, individual tickets can be bought on the day for 10,000 won per person but those attendees will not be able to pre-book screenings and cannot attend any Retro Fest events.
Food and snacks will also be sold at the event.

The Estonian electro band I Wear* Experiment is back for the third time, after performing at Zandari Festa 2016 and touring Korea on their own in January 2017.
The band will bring its heavily experimental music to CJ Azit near Gwangheungchang Station on Line 6. Local openers include electro-rock bands LudiSTELO and MDSZ. The event is organized by DoIndie, a website providing news and information on the local music scene in Korean and English. The show is Friday at 8 p.m. and costs 15,000 won in advance or 20,000 won at the door.

Kizomba is a genre of dance and music originating in Angola in the 1980s. Meaning “party” in Kimbundu language, it is a slow, sensuous dance performed with a partner to an electronic beat.
Every Sunday evening, Volstead in Itaewon offers Kizomba lessons. The intermediate lesson starts at 7 p.m. and the beginner class is at 7:45 p.m. At 8:30 there is a social dance and raffle. Participation costs 10,000 won and comes with a free drink.
