Guest speaker Katherine Ann Corteza, director of the Itaewon Global Village Center, will cover topics about acclimating to life in Seoul.
This will also be an opportunity to renew current AWC membership or for new members to join.
The AWC is comprised of women who gather for friendship, cultural and social activities, as well as identifying and raising welfare funds for local Korean communities in need. Membership is open to women of all nationalities.
“We will be offering various activities throughout the year to meet the social and philanthropic desires of our members. It won't take long to get settled after attending one of our general monthly meetings or social events and if you are looking for something to do, we have plenty of volunteer opportunities and can match them to your skills and interests,” the event organizer says on the center’s website.
“We are run by a volunteer board of women and welcome involvement of all members. If you have any suggestions or ideas to make the AWC even better, we would love to hear them.”
Annual AWC membership fees are 50,000 won, or 25,000 won for military, embassy staff or thrift shop volunteers.
The lunch costs 20,000 won for members and 25,000 won for nonmembers (includes entree plus soda, tea or coffee).
Lunch will begin at 11 a.m.
