Yeoksam Global Village Center in southern Seoul will host a seminar on the local healthcare system for foreign residents Wednesday evening.

“To help make your life abroad more comfortable and safe, qualified healthcare workers from Chung-Ang University Hospital have prepared an educational seminar for expats titled ‘Your Health Does Matter,’” the center said.

The seminar will be split in two parts, with the first session touching on topics such as the health insurance system in Korea, exceptions that Korean National Health Insurance (KNHI) does not cover, how to use hospitals without national health insurance coverage and how to qualify for insurance.

The second half will look at how to act in medical emergencies.

The seminar is open to adult foreign residents in Korea, with the class limited to 20 people on a first-come basis.

The session is free and will be from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

For registration, email ygvc0417@gmail.com or call (02) 3453-9038/9.

To get to the center, leave exit 2 of Gangnam Station on Line 2 and the Shinbundang Line. Walk straight for about 10 minutes, turn right at the first traffic light and walk straight for about 500 meters. Yeoksam 1 Culture Center is next to the BMS building.

The seminar will be on the fourth floor in the hobby classroom.
