A local version of the internationally renowned German beer festival Oktoberfest will take place at the Grand Hilton Seoul Convention Center on Saturday.

“The 2014 Oktoberfest is sure to live up to its reputation as one of the best beer festivals outside of Germany,” said executive assistant manager Ashley Cheeseman in a press release.

The Oktoberfest band will headline the Grand Hilton Seoul Oktoberfest, which also features games, prizes, German food and unlimited Paulaner draft beer.

“Widely regarded as the ultimate Oktoberfest entertainers, the Paulaner Oktoberfest Band will play all the beer festival classics, ensuring an authentic and lively German atmosphere throughout the evening,” Cheeseman continued.

With a strong following in Germany, where it performs at the original Oktoberfest in Munich each year, the band has also held concerts in many parts of Europe, the United States and the Asia-Pacific region.

Guests can enjoy crispy pork legs with applesauce, meatloaf with sauerkraut or German sausages. Desserts will include Black Forest cake, homemade apple strudel and Linzer torte.

“As well as the music, guests will be kept entertained throughout the evening with participation party games and fun competitions,” Cheeseman added.

Guests are also invited to purchase raffle tickets.

The original Oktoberfest is held annually in Munich, Germany. The 16-day festival runs from late September through the first weekend in October, with more than 6 million people from around the world attending every year.

The Grand Hilton Seoul 2014 Oktoberfest will kick off at 6 p.m.

Tickets cost 140,000 won per person (inclusive of tax and service charge). Special discounts can be arranged for groups of more than 50.
