London based Canadian comic Glenn Wool will bring his unique brand of stand-up comedy to Seoul for two shows in early February.
“Stand Up Seoul” is once again bringing another renowned and hilarious professional stand-up comedian to Korea.
“Finish off the winter right with this globe trekker’s worldly brand of stand-up comedy. Local opening acts will be announced soon,” states a press release.
Wool will be performing at the Rocky Mountain Tavern in Itaewon, Seoul.
Stand-up comedy is a comic style in which a comedian performs live in front of an audience, usually speaking directly to them. The performer is commonly known as a comic, stand-up comic, stand-up comedian or simply a stand-up.
In stand-up comedy the comedian usually recites a fast paced grouping of humorous stories, short jokes called “bits,” and one-liners typically called a monologue, routine or act.
Some stand-up comedians use props, music or magic tricks to enhance their acts. Stand-up comedy is often performed in comedy clubs, bars, nightclubs, neo-burlesques, colleges, and theaters.
Wool is a regular U.K. TV face having made appearances on Russell Howards Good News and Never Mind the Buzzcocks. His material veers between sagely political and gleefully silly, discussing both the pop group Franz Ferdinand and the Pope’s contribution to cryogenics programs during his time onstage.
The shows will be on Feb. 14 and 15 and will start at 10 p.m.
