The New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Korea, known as the Kiwi Chamber, will hold a Spring Hui on Friday at the Greymouth Beer Pub in Daehangno, from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
Established in November 2008, the chamber facilitates business opportunities for New Zealand and Korean companies and individuals in both countries.
Simon Walsh, a director on the chamber board and host of the Spring Hui, said such gatherings are held about every six weeks and specifically target individuals and companies associated with New Zealand and the country’s products.
Hui is the indigenous New Zealand Maori word for a gathering or assembly and the chamber holds the events to offer members and friends the opportunity to network, while relaxing and enjoying finger food and New Zealand beverages.
“The main purpose is getting members of the Kiwi Chamber together to interact in a less formal environment,” he said.
Walsh said the chamber has about 150 members at present. The venue for the spring event, the Greymouth Beer Pub, is owned by a Korean who imports New Zealand beers, particularly Monteith’s, which is brewed in Greymouth, on the West Coast of New Zealand’s South Island.
Advance ticket prices are 25,000 won ($22.34) for members and 30,000 won for non-members. Further information is available at chamber@kiwichamber.com.
