The Australian Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AustChamKorea) will present the largest Australia Day celebration in Korea on Jan. 27 at the Champagne Room of the Novotel Ambassador in Gangnam, Seoul.
From 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., guests are invited to enjoy an Australian menu including Aussie BBQ provided by Meat & Livestock Australia, Western Australian wines courtesy of W.A. Trade and Investment, meat pies supplied by Jesters, fish and chips, traditional Australian desserts including lamingtons and pavlova and a selection of Australian beers.
People can also dance to classic Australian rock music and win raffle prizes.
The event is one of the high points on the AustChamKorea annual calendar and is attended by senior diplomats and leading business figures.
Australia Day (previously known as Anniversary Day, Foundation Day, and ANA Day) is the official national day of Australia. Celebrated annually on Jan. 26, the date commemorates the arrival of the First Fleet at Sydney Cove in 1788 and the proclamation at that time of British sovereignty over the eastern seaboard of New Holland.
The entrance fee is 50,000 won for members and 60,000 won for non-members.
Novotel Ambassador Gangnam is located close to COEX Convention and Exhibition Center and Jamsil Baseball Stadium.
Please RSVP to exec@austchamkorea.org by Jan. 25.
