Described as music that invites you to daydream or is perfect accompaniment on a contemplative walk, Saycet is performing here in Seoul, for one concert only on Friday at Rolling Hall in Hongdae at 8 p.m. and this is made possible through the efforts of Broken Teeth.

The atmospheric tunes of Saycet are the creation of Pierre LeFeuvre, a French composer who earned notable acclaim for his first solo album, One Day at Home, in 2006. The first track, Chromatic Bird effectively lures the listener who is easily swept away by each following song. LeFeuvre’s arrangements are characterized by electronic beats and effects, a range of rhythmic sounds and soothing melodies. The music lends hip ambiance to any area, even inside your head.

The work of the inspiring French artist is said to be, ``Both fleecy and tense, elusive and introspective, the songs that compose One Day At Home sublimate melancholy and solitude.’’ It is music akin to Tsewer Beta, the Dutch producer and DJ, as well as reminiscent of Danish artist Trentemoller.

Working in a year-long collaboration with Phoene Somsavath, the release of the second album, Through the Window in 2010, continues to offer ``discreet vocal samples that breeze in and vanish, layered keyboards and detailed electronics.’’

Lefeuvre names Boards of Canada and Mum as early influences.

According to the press release, ``As a live show, Saycet is also comprised of VJ Zita Cochet, whose video projections emphasize the cinematic aspect of their music. The images are colouful shapes and shades, bright lights fading out playing hide-and-seek with the melodies, and underline the poetry of their universe.’’

Opening act is the Sogyumo Acacia Band, a duo band composed of Min-hong and Eun-jie. Their sentimental harmony and lyrics have been very popular in Korea.

Broken Teeth was initiated in early 2010 by French people living in Korea with the objective to develop the activities of another company, Panda Media, in party planning, artistic event organization and live music promotion. The Saycet concert has been arranged with the support of Sky Music and Table Sound.

Rolling Hall is located at 402-22, Shinbo Building, B1 Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu or call 02-325-6071.
