In celebration of Canada Night, festivities will take place at Cheonggye Plaza on Aug. 28, including live performances, food tasting, arts and crafts, and a Canadian film screening.
The event is open to everyone, including foreigners living in Korea, Korean citizens, tourists and is sponsored by the Canadian Embassy and Seoul Metropolitan Government.
Activities include outdoor screenings of Canadian animations and films, traditional Korean music and Canadian musical performances, exhibitions, events to experience Canadian culture and more.
The films to be screened will include animations and Oscar-winning and -nominated short films selected by the National Film Board of Canada’
Canadian DJ Unjin, and local Led Zeppelin tribute band Over the Hill and Far Away will perform as well as Canadian media art group Purform.
A photo exhibition and cultural experience event will be held featuring the 60th anniversary of the Korean War ― Canadian soldiers in the Korean War.
Events to experience Canadian culture include free samples of pancakes and maple syrup, free Polaroid photos of you and your friends (first 300 people) and face painting.
The AustCham summer blast sundowner will be held at the Blush Bar, Grand InterContinental Hotel in Gangnam this Friday, Aug. 27 from 6:30 p.m. till 9:30 p.m.
The cost is 50,000 won for members and 55,000 won for non-members.
