Pasta Sauce Cooking Contest

Scrooge Pub & Dickens Lounge in Itaewon will host a Pasta Sauce Cooking Contest! All of the proceeds from the one-day event will go toward efforts of the Little Travellers to fight HIV/AIDS in the KwaZulu-Natal Province of South Africa, where over 40 percent of adults are infected with HIV.

Between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. visitors will be able to choose from over 15 different types of pasta sauces to go on a bed of spaghetti.

The cost for visitors is 10,000 won and includes a plate of spaghetti, two pasta sauces of your choice, two dinner rolls and a Little Traveller.

Prizes will be awarded for the best recipes. Categories will include best pasta sauce, best name and most interesting combination of ingredients. Those who want to enter the competition are encouraged to register as soon as possible.

Prizes from Tartine Bakery, Scrooges Pub, Tiwi, Eshe Belly Dancers, Roofers, Sujis, Zelen, Le Vert, Ho Lee Chow, Rocky Mountain Tavern and Sorrentino', with more to come.

‘The Little Dragon’ returns to Seoul

The English play "The Little Dragon" for children by LATT Children's Theatre will be staged at the LATT Children's Theatre from June 12.

LATT Children's Theatre, Korea's only English language repertory company, presents a return season of the acclaimed English language musical.

This delightful show, viewed by over 130,000 enchanted children, explores one dragon's quest to find "a friend just like me." Using puppetry, real-time animation and a range of vibrant characters, audiences will be taken on a voyage through space, forest, city and sea; a journey of danger and delight that all the family will enjoy.

Dates are from Saturday June 12 to Sunday July 11.

Times are Wednesdays at 4 p.m., Saturdays at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. (2nd & 4th Saturdays at 12 p.m., 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.) and Sundays at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Tickets cost 30,000 won

To get there take subway line 3 to Yangjae Station. Go out of exit 5 and walk for about 10 minutes. Turn right after the GS Gas Station. LATT is on the left hand side, just past Tom&Tom's Coffee.

From exit 5, you can also take blue busses 406 or 641, Green bus 4312 or the 'village' buses 18 or 21. The buses stop directly opposite LATT Children's Theatre at the Wonbulgyo Stop.

Speed dating event in Itaewon

Seoul Sisters Rugby Football Club has organized a Speed Dating event slated for Thursday June 10 at Scrooge Pub.

For those unfamiliar with the concept, speed dating is a formalized matchmaking process or dating system whose purpose is to encourage people to meet a large number of new people.

The first round will be at 8:30 p.m. with the second round commencing at 9:16 p.m.

The Cost is 10,000 won.

Scrooge Pub is on the 2nd floor in the street behind the Hamilton Hotel.
