Korean Food Taste Tour
On March 20, O'ngo Food Communications and Seoul Eats is organizing a Korean food taste tour.
Participants on the tour will first enjoy a specially tailored lunch consisting of over 20 different dishes and it will be explained by a Korean cuisine expert, Jennifer Flinn, in English.
After lunch, the tour will head over to the historic Bukcheon district to visit two museums: the Korean Folk Art Museum (Gahoe Museum) and the Seoul Museum of Chicken Art. At the Folk Museum, traditional Korean tea will be served.
After the museum, the tour will move to a kitschy Korean rice wine restaurant (makgeolli) for a Korean alcohol tasting. Different types of makgeolli, wines and alcohols will be available for sampling, and will come with Korean seafood pancakes (haemul pajeon) and red spicy chicken (dakbokkeum).
There are only 20 spots available and preference will be given to non-Korean citizens. Korean tour operators are not invited to attend.
The tour will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and will meet outside Anguk Subway Station, Exit 6. It costs 80,000 won ($72) and a booklet explaining the dishes and a map will be provided. Those interested need to pay in advance by bank transfer or PayPal. Send an RSVP to seouleats@gmail.com.

Back by popular demand, the Seoul Global Center (SGC) will once again host the "Business Start-up Education Class" for international entrepreneurs.
While the future of the Business Start-up class was uncertain after its first run, after frequent inquiries from expats interested in taking the class, the SGC decided that it would be beneficial to provide the course again.
Sponsored by the Seoul metropolitan government, last year's inaugural class proved to be a success; the course spawned six currently-operating businesses among its previous students and more students have other businesses underway.
The intensive class will be run every day except Sunday from March 22 through April 1 at the SGC seminar room, located on the 5th floor of the Press Center near City Hall Station, exit 4. During the week, classes will be held in the evening in an effort to accommodate work schedules of interested participants, typically from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 or 9:30 p.m. The one Saturday class will be held in the afternoon from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The topics will range from Korean business culture, creating a viable business plan, registering a business, location and real estate analysis, human resources, labor and business laws, taxation, and business licenses and permits.
The SGC also provides free business consultation as a regular service for any international residents interested in investing or starting a business in Korea.
