Seoul Writers Workshop has launched a call for submissions for its upcoming 2009 anthology.
The book, an annual collection of short stories, poems and creative non-fiction, is scheduled for publication in October, and the group is keen to receive entries from both budding writers and professionals.
Established in 2007 by expats, the workshop donates the proceeds from the sale of the anthology to charity moonbear.org, which works to stop the trade in bile from bears, and the Korea Sexual Violence Relief Center.
Chris Sanders, one of the group's founders, said a launch date has been set for Oct. 10, with further details about the event yet to be finalized.
``Our book will be available for purchase at our events in October, November and December, as well as on Amazon and at local bookstores," he said.
The deadline for submissions to the anthology is Aug. 14, with prose entries limited to 10,000 words and poetry of varying lengths.
The group's next workshop is on Sunday at Hello Beans coffee shop in Itaewon from 1 to 5 p.m.
