A heavy rain advisory was issued for Seoul on Monday, prompting officials to restrict access to 29 streams across the capital, the city government said.

The first-stage advisory took effect at 4:10 a.m., mobilizing 3,465 personnel in preparation for possible damage from the rains.

The city is bracing for the risk of flooding in the capital's four wards of Gwanak, Geumcheon, Dongjak and Yongsan.

It is currently partially operating seven rainwater pumping stations and monitoring the situation.

No injuries or damage have yet been reported from the rains.
