Gen. Kim Tae-young, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), will meet with Thailand's supreme commander, Army Gen. Boonsrang Niumpradit, today to discuss bilateral ties, the JCS said Wednesday.

The Thai general arrived in South Korea Tuesday for a five-day visit marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries, it said in a news release.

The JCS will hold a welcoming ceremony for the commander this morning.
