About 20 new Block 40 F-16 aircraft from Eielson Air Base, Alaska, will arrive at Kunsan Air Base of the U.S. Air Force between Jan. 16 and 18 to swap out for the older Block 30 F-16s, the U.S. 8th Fighter Wing said in a news release Wednesday.

``With this exchange of aircraft , Eielson AFB, Alaska will be receiving Kunsan’s Block 30 F-16s,’’ it said. ``They will use the Block 30 F-16s as aggressor aircraft to support Red Flag Alaska and other training events.’’

Kusan Air Base, in turn, will receive Eielson’s upgraded Common Configuration Implementation Program Block 40s to increase its combat capability and readiness, it said.
