Kyung Hee University announced its 2026 regular admissions plan, or Jeongsi, saying it will admit 2,415 students, representing 44.9 percent of its total enrollment quota. Of these, 2,217 will be selected through the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT)-based track and 198 through practical arts evaluations.
Applications will be accepted from Dec. 29-31, over a three-day period through the university’s admissions portal.
According to the university, results for most general admissions categories will be released on Jan. 16 at 6 p.m. Remaining admissions results are scheduled to be published on Jan. 23 at 6 p.m. Final enrollment numbers reflecting early admissions carryovers will be posted on the university's admissions website ahead of the regular application period.
For the 2026 cycle, the university transitioned the English subject from an absolute grading evaluation to a grade-based score deduction system.
Under the new method, students achieving English Grade 1 or 2 will receive full credit without deduction, reducing the impact of difficult English sections. Students receiving English Grade 3 or lower and Korean History Grade 5 or lower will incur score deductions from the total.
Kyung Hee has also revised CSAT subject weightings across academic tracks.
Standard scores for Korean and Mathematics and the university’s own percentile-based converted standard scores for Inquiry subjects will be applied. Exact subject weightings vary by academic field.
In a notable shift, the Department of Korean Medicine, previously classified under the humanities track, will now be evaluated using social sciences CSAT subject weightings. For this program, CSAT scores will be calculated with Korean 35 percent, Mathematics 35 percent and Inquiry (two subjects) 30 percent.
The university has eliminated bonus points previously awarded to humanities applicants taking social inquiry subjects, while maintaining the science bonus system for natural science applicants.
Under that system, applicants taking science inquiry subjects receive 4 additional points per subject (up to 8 points); no bonus is provided for students in the College of Liberal Arts Open Major track.
Kyung Hee’s Admissions Office provides comprehensive data to aid applicants, including detailed regular admissions results over the past three years from 2023. Released through both the university portal and the University Admissions Information Portal, the data includes competition ratios, final cutoff percentiles for the top 70 percent of registered students, and average CSAT percentiles for the top 80 percent, enabling deeper insights for applicants.
“The updated admissions framework is designed to balance fairness and academic relevance, while providing applicants with transparent information and flexibility in subject selection,” Kyung Hee University President Kim Jin-sang said in a press release.
