As of Saturday at 6:00 p.m., civic groups and people gathered at Cheonggye Plaza in central Seoul to demand President Park Geun-hye’s resignation amid her influence-peddling scandal involving her longtime confidant, Choi Soon-sil.

Some 10,000 people are estimated to have joined the candlelit protest that encouraged people to “come and show fury.”

The protest, streaming live on YouTube channel Fact TV, demands the truths behind the scandal involving Choi Soon-sil, who used her friendship with Park to meddle in state affairs. The protesters are also demanding the resignation of the President.
