Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics and other companies are offering free product repairs to typhoon Chaba victims.

Samsung and LG have sent special service teams to Ulsan and Changwon, where the typhoon damage was worst.

Samsung opened two service booths in Ulsan, one in front of Samsung Digital Plaza in Taehwa-dong and the other in front of Taehwa-dong Community Center.

The company also opened a booth at Yongwon-dong in Changwon. The booths will be open from until Oct. 11.

Company representatives will also visit premises to repair larger products such as refrigerators and washers.

“We set up a special service team as quickly as possible to help the victims of flood damage,” a Samsung electronics official told Yonhap news agency.

“We hope we can be of small help to the people, who have suffered from this tragic event.”

LG has also opened booths in Ulsan’s Taehwa Market and Busan.

Company staff will also visit premises to repair larger products.

Dongbu Daewoo Electronics opened a booth in front of Taehwa-dong Community Center and repaired products free until Oct. 9.

Civilians have also volunteered their weekends to visit the disaster-stricken areas to help clean up and help with general repairs.

Typhoon Chaba, the strongest typhoon since 2003, struck the Korean peninsula on Oct 5, leaving five dead.
