Cold weather that came fast amid the onset of fall surprised many on Saturday, but those near the Han River did not mind the chilliness for an hour and a half as they were mesmerized by rare fireworks over Seoul sky.
The annual Seoul International Fireworks Festival began at 7:15 p.m. at the Han River Park in Yeouido. People flocked to hotspots at the river parks, scenery points on bridges across the river and other secret nooks and crannies to watch the aerial art flared up by Japan, Spain and Korea.
Those far from Yeouido could not enjoy the background music which provided an audio narrative that added fun to the fireworks show.
A good number of visitors to the sites might have caught cold or become feverish overnight. The night was a visual way to mark the turn of the season.
