Video footage of a man brutally assaulting a Cambodian woman at a food packing factory in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, has caused uproar in Cambodia, according to Oh My News, an online news website.
The suspect is allegedly a Chinese supervisor at the factory.
The footage shows the man assaulting the woman, 28, for 11 seconds. The video went viral in Cambodia after its release on Sept. 13. The victim also claimed she was raped.
The footage has caused uproar in the Southeast Asian country and the Cambodian Embassy in Korea has sent an official diplomatic note to police, calling for a formal investigation and punishment of the supervisor.

In the note issued on Sept. 15, the embassy said the supervisor “harassed and beat her seriously, as well as her friends,” adding the victim’s statement about how the supervisor threatened to kill her, according to the Cambodian Daily.
Pictures of the woman being treated in hospital have been posted on the Cambodian Embassy’s Facebook page.
